A Romantic Valentine's Dinner Dance on February 14

Give your sweetheart a Valentine's Day to remember: dinner and dancing at the Plimsoll Club on Wednesday, February 14.

If you would like to begin by having cocktails before your dinner, you will be entertained by renowned pianist Ronnie Kole from 5:30p.m. to 6:30p.m. in the Galvez Room. We will be serving complimentary light hors d'oeuvres during cocktails. Enjoy the sparkling panorama of the Crescent City at night while dancing to your favorite love songs, compliments of Joe Simon's Jazz trio during and after dinner.

Dine on our sumptuous buffet, replete with smoked salmon, iced shrimp, leg of lamb, prime rib of beef, red snapper topped with lump crabmeat, and our fabulous array of sweets for your sweetheart.

A romantic evening wouldn't be complete without the sounds of corks popping, so we include with your dinner a complimentary bottle of champagne or wine for each couple.

The cost of the evening is only $43.95 per person! (cocktails during the pre-dinner reception not included). Call 529-1701 to make reservations for the time you prefer between 7:00 p.m. and 9:00 p.m. Dancing is scheduled from 7:00 p.m. until 11:00 p.m.

If you must cancel, please do so by noon on Tuesday, February 13 or full billing will apply. Due to this special event, the a la carte menu will not be offered.

Remember to ask for your cancellation number. As always, complimentary validated parking is available in the WTC parking garage.

WTC and Plimsoll Club Working for the Community

In early January, Plimsoll Club and WTC staff members conducted a Career Training Program for 45 juniors and seniors from Carver High School's Tourism Academy. The program, which has been sponsored by the Plimsoll Club and the Civil Sheriff’s Office for over ten years, includes a briefing on the World Trade Center, Plimsoll Club and "Thinking Globally" by Membership Director Natalie Rideau, "Interviewing for Employment" by Plimsoll Club Night Supervisor Marc Garcia, "Cooking as a Career" by Chef Keith Faulkner, and "What The Civil Sheriff's Department Means to You" by Lea Young, Assistant to New Orleans Civil Sheriff Paul Valteau. The Program concluded with lunch at the Plimsoll Club and a briefing on Dining Etiquette by Natalie Rideau.

RECIPROCAL CLUB PROFILE: CITY CLUB OF BATON ROUGE
The City Club, which resides in a magnificent Italian Renaissance building dating back to 1894, was formerly a post office and federal courthouse. In 1910, President William Howard Taft was honored at a reception there and said "This building represents one of the finest examples of modern architecture today".

After many years of service as a federal building, and later as city-parish offices, the building was remodeled to become the City Club of Baton Rouge.

Combining a rich history with longstanding traditions of good food and fellowship, the City Club offers WTC New Orleans members a wonderful venue for entertaining.

For further information on the City Club of Baton Rouge, other clubs in the network, or to request a Reciprocal Clubs Directory, call Vanessa Bailey at 529-1601, ext. 234.
