for the Plimsoll Club's first Gourmet Dinner & Wine Tasting of
2001 on Saturday, January 20, beginning at 7:15 p.m.
Our
theme is "The Wines of Mondavi." Wine expert Max Zander will
guide us on this gastronomical tour of worldwide winery of the Mondavi
family from California to Chile via Italy.
We offer you a sampling of fine wines, especially selected to
complement our gourmet menu. The cost of this elegant evening is only
$82.50 per person.
To make reservations, call Mirela Hodge from 9:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m.
or Marc Garcia after 4:00 p.m. at 529-1701.
If you must cancel, please do so by Thursday, January 18 before 2:00
p.m. to avoid billing to your account.
Remember to ask for your cancellation number. As always, complimentary
validated parking is available in the WTC garage.

Provence" luncheon buffet.
This delicious buffet is only $17.95. Our specialty buffets are always
sellouts, so reserve your table now!
No French meal would be complete without an aperitif and we offer
Pernod for $2.95.
Note: Due to this special luncheon event, the a la carte menu will not
be offered.

Cancellations must be received by noon on Thursday, January 11 or your
account will be billed for the entire reservation. As always,
complimentary validated parking for three hours is available in the
WTC garage.
Sample Early Menu Before Going Out!
Going
to the theatre or the symphony? We offer a delicious Early Evening
menu from 5:30 p.m. - 6:30 p.m. on Tuesdays through Thursdays when our
a la carte dinner is offered.
Our Early Evening menu begins with starters such as crawfish cake with
tartar sauce, grilled andouille sausage with turnip greens and
black-eyed peas, soup du jour, and Caesar and Plimsoll salads.
Our main courses offer a choice of Chicken Lafitte, Tilapia Pecan or
Veal Piccata. Desserts include carrot cake, sherbet du jour, chocolate
mousse or bread pudding with praline sauce.
The cost is $15.75 per person. Two hours of complimentary validated
parking is included in this special price.
Dinner at the Plimsoll Club is the perfect way to begin your evening.

When
you're downtown shopping or taking care of business, enjoy the
Plimsoll Club's daily luncheon buffet. The cost is once again $13.95
for a buffet that features an array of delectable dishes which are

WTC Enhances Members-Only Web Section,
Opens Virtual Store
The
Members-Only section of the WTC website (www.wtcno.org/memberarea)
continues to expand. The content includes Plimsoll Club information
(daily menu specials, a la carte menu, recipe of the month, and
special events), a searchable database of Reciprocity Clubs, the
complete Membership Benefits Handbook, special sections for members of
WTC advisory committees, recent trade leads from other WTCs worldwide,
communications from the WTC President, special discounts and offers,
and a “What’s New” section with recent news for members
including dated information which may not make it into the mailings
you receive. Also, an Internet tip-of-the-month has been added to help
enhance your on-line experience. You’ll need your username and
password (previously mailed) to access this portion of the site. If
you have forgotten or misplaced yours, e-mail npezold@wtcno.org.
Also, the WTC has just opened a new WTC Store on its website. Visitors
may purchase most of the products which the WTC and Plimsoll Club have
to offer directly and securely on-line. Products include international
trade reference books, videotapes of WTC events, satellite maps on CD,
Pimsleur foreign language programs, and Plimsoll Club items (ties,
scarves, watches, pins, electronic currency converters, umbrellas,
etc). WTC members receive discounts on most of the products offered.

Hank Lauricella elected WTC President
The
Board of Directors of the World Trade Center has elected Francis E.
³Hank² Lauricella as President of the WTC for 2001. Mr.
Lauricella is a General Partner of Lauricella Land Co. LLC and served
as a member of the State Legislature for 32 years. In his college days
at the University of Tennessee, he was an All-American halfback and
runner-up for the Heisman Trophy in 1951. Among his other civic
activities, Mr. Lauricella currently serves as a member of the Board
of Commissioners of the Port of New Orleans and a Board member of the
New Orleans Exhibition Hall Authority.

WTCA Spring Meeting 2001 Set for April 10-14 in
Trieste, Italy
WTC
President Dennis Kelly invites you to join him on a Louisiana business
mission to Trieste, Italy for the Spring Assembly of the World Trade
Centers Association from April 10-14, 2001.
This is an excellent opportunity to make productive contacts with
delegations in attendance from all over the world and have one-on-one
match-making appointments with Italian companies.
Also included in the Assembly¹s program are informative trade
seminars and briefings, exhibits, cultural and networking events. With
an attractive registration fee of $300, the program also includes an
evening at the opera to see ³The Barber of Seville² and a dinner at
a palace on the last day of the meetings. There will also be an
optional day trip to Venice.
