The
Plimsoll Club cordially invites you to enjoy
A Gourmet Dinner & Wine Tasting on June 17
Join
us at the Plimsoll Club for a Gourmet Dinner & Wine Tasting on Saturday,
June 17 at 7:15 p.m. Our theme is "The Wines of Australia."
Max
Zander, wine expert, will lead us through this evening of gastronomic
delights from the "land down under."
The
country's two principal reds, Shiraz and Cabernet Sauvignon, share
a rich and slightly fruity profile.
Shiraz
(the native Rhone varietal called Syrah in France) makes a wine
thick with soft tannins and ripe fruit, with notes of black pepper.
The
Cabernet makes a leaner wine, with firmer tannins and herbal accents
to the fruit.
The
two grapes, while offering different flavor palettes, are compatible
enough to be blended together.
Australia
has made a name for itself in the United States with its wildly
popular lush and oaky Chardonnays.
During
the white wine boom in the 1970s, the standard for Australian Chardonnays
was set: low in acidity, round and generous with soft, ripe melon
and fig flavors, plus plenty of butter and vanilla.
Enjoy
this fabulous feast, including cocktails, hors d'oeuvres and musical
entertainment for only $79.95 per person! Make reservations by calling
529-1701. Cancel by noon on Friday, June 16, or full billing will
apply. Ask for your cancellation number.
Enjoy
complimentary validated parking in the WTC garage.
