Louisiana to Have Spot in Miami Conference

Louisiana will have a featured role in this year's 23rd Annual Miami Conference on the Caribbean and Latin America to be held December 7-10 at the Inter-Continental Hotel.

One key objective will be to promote attendance at the annual meeting of the Inter-American Development Bank to be held in New Orleans next March.

On Friday, December 10, the Louisiana delegation, led by New Orleans Mayor Marc Morial and Louisiana Secretary of Economic Development Kevin Reilly, will host a special breakfast meeting for up to 300 conference invitees, including numerous political and business leaders from the Hemisphere. The guest speakers at the breakfast will be three heads of state from Latin America.

Following the breakfast meeting, there will be a 75-minute workshop on "Louisiana and Hemisphere Trade," which will highlight the state's growing role in regional trade, transportation, investment, and tourism.

Members of the Louisiana delegation also will be invited to display their company literature at a Louisiana business booth at the conference.

For conference details and to join the Louisiana delegation for this highly acclaimed event, which brings together 1,500 public and private sector leaders from over 50 countries, call the WTC at (504) 529-1601, ext. 222.
