us for "A Taste of California" luncheon buffet on Friday,
September 24 and sample the delicious cuisine that has made the
West Coast famous.
The
Chef has put together a spectacular menu that reflects the freshness
and unique flavor combinations from the sunny shores of California.
Featured
items will include cream of corn with oyster soup, cucumber vichyssoise
with crawfish cream, radicchio and wild mushroom salad, grilled
squab marinated in seasonal berry puree, roast pork, poached halibut
with tomatoes and basil, grilled swordfish with mango butter and
many other delectable dishes.
This
fabulous feast is only $16.50 per person! We offer California Cabernet
Sauvignon Round Hill or Chardonnay Robert Pepi for only $2.95 a
glass.

a Lobster Dinner Dance on Saturday, September 18
Due
to popular demand for our Lobster Dinner Dance, we are offering
an encore presentation on Saturday, September 18.
Make reservations for the time you prefer between 7:30 p.m. and

8:30 a.m. until 4:00 p.m.
The
cost of this delicious four-course feast is only $37.50 per person!
We
offer a choice of two appetizers, a refreshing salad, a boiled one-and-three-quarter-pound
Maine lobster that has been cracked and loosened from its shell,
saffron rice pilaf, French bread and butter, and a buffet of splendid
desserts.

Annual
Membership Campaign Kicks Off September 1
The
WTC's annual membership campaign is officially on!
The
lucky person who sponsors the most new members between September
1 and December 31 will win the grand prize -- a vacation for two
to San Jose, Costa Rica, including airfare, a three-night hotel
stay, transfers and tours.
The
second place winner will enjoy a complimentary dinner and cocktails
for four at the Plimsoll Club.
The
third place winner will enjoy a complimentary luncheon for four
at the Club.
Send or fax the names and addresses of your prospective members
and put yourself in the race for first place! The WTC will follow-up
and contact these individuals for you.
Remember, when a prospective member whom you sponsor becomes a new
member, you will automatically receive a $50 gift certificate for
food and beverages at the Plimsoll Club.

Early Menu Before Evening Out
Going to the theatre, the symphony
or just enjoying a night on the town? We offer a delicious Early
Evening menu from 5:30 p.m. until 6:30 p.m. on Tuesdays through
Thursdays when the a la carte menu is offered.
Our
Early Evening menu begins with starters such as crawfish cakes with
tartar sauce, grilled andouille sausage with turnip greens and black-eyed
peas, soup du jour and Caesar and Plimsoll salads.
Our
main courses provide a choice of Chicken Lafitte, Tilapia Pecan
or Veal Piccata. Desserts include carrot cake, sherbert du jour,
chocolate mousse or bread pudding with praline sauce.
The
cost is $14.75 per person. Two hours of complimentary validated
parking is included in this special price.

Welcome to Our New PC Banquet Head Waiter
Congratulations
to Mike Vidrine, the Plimsoll Club's new Banquet Head Waiter, who
was promoted on August 1.
He
replaces Antonio Pinon, who has been with the Plimsoll Club for
17 years. Pinon is getting married and relocating to Atlanta. We
will miss him.
We
also want to welcome Robert Weakley as our new Assistant Banquet
Waiter. Robert joined us from the Windsor Court Hotel. He also worked

The
Plimsoll Club's Autumn Hours Set
After
closing completely for the last two weeks of August for our annual
repairs and maintenance, the Plimsoll Club will reopen for lunch
on Monday, August 30 and for dinner on Wednesday, September 1
Both
the club and the WTC offices will be closed on Monday, September
6 in observation of Labor Day.

March 31.
Any
dues balance remaining unpaid by that date will be written off in

Autumn
is just around the corner and cool weather will be here soon. It's
time to book space for your holiday parties at the Plimsoll Club.
We
have very few available weekend dates left for evening parties,
so call Pam Corrigan or Dori Singer at 529-1701 right away to reserve
space for your holiday bash.
In
keeping with the holiday spirit, we have a special offer for holiday
office luncheons during the month of December. We will give everyone
in attendance a complimentary glass of champagne with dessert.
In
addition, we will organize a drawing for a Plimsoll Club apron colored
royal blue with white lettering and piping.
This
offer applies only to luncheons held in private rooms with a banquet
menu served. Group luncheons in the main dining room or those selecting
the a la carte menu or buffet are excluded from this offer..
Easy
Parking at WTC Garage
The
1,000-car WTC parking garage is conveniently located on Poydras
Street next to the Hilton Hotel and across the street from the WTC
Building.
The
garage is just steps away from Riverwalk and a five-minute walk
from the CBD, the Warehouse District and the French Quarter.
The
garage offers safe, covered parking and is accessible 7 days a week,
24 hours a day.

WTC
Language Classes to Begin September 6
The
next 15-week session of language instruction in French, German,
Spanish, and Italian (note: this is the first time Italian is being
offered in several years) begins on Monday, September 6 and runs
through December 16 at the WTC.
The
classes are held in the evenings, twice a week, at the WTC Building.
Free parking is provided in the WTC garage.
The
emphasis of the classes is on business usage and conversation. Small
classes led by experienced teachers ensure individual attention.
The
registration fee is $195, with WTC members and spouses paying $135,
and WTC tenants and members of various other trade associations
paying $175.
Advance
registration is required.

for the classes is August 31.
