The Plimsoll Club cordially invites you to enjoy A Lobster Dinner Dance on Saturday, August 14

Join us for a romantic evening of dinner and dancing at our popular lobster dinner dance on Saturday, August 14.

Make reservations for the time you prefer between 7:00 p.m. and 8:30 p.m. by calling the Plimsoll Club at 529-1701.

The cost of this delicious four-course feast is only $37.50 per person!

We offer a choice of two appetizers, a refreshing salad, a boiled one-and-three-quarter-pound Maine lobster that has been cracked and loosened from its shell, saffron rice pilaf, French bread and butter, and a buffet of splendid desserts.
Enjoy dancing to the music of the Al Belletto Quartet from 7:00 p.m. until 10:30 p.m.

If you must cancel, please do so by Thursday, August 12 and ask for your cancellation number to avoid billing to your WTC account. As always, complimentary validated parking is available in the WTC garage.



Enjoy A Taste of France Luncheon Buffet August 6

Join us at the Plimsoll Club for "A Taste of France" luncheon buffet on Friday, August 6. The menu will include French specialities such as salad nicoise, pate maison, vichyssoise, potage St. Germain, leg of lamb Provencale, tilapia grenobloise, breast of chicken cordon bleu, filet de boeuf en brochette, fondantes potatoes, haricots verts, cherries jubilee, assorted French desserts, and much more.

This sumptuous buffet is offered to our members and their guests for only $15.95! No French meal would be complete without a glass of wine and we offer you a glass of imported merlot or muscadet for only $2.50.

As always, complimentary validated parking is available in the WTC garage for four hours during lunch.

Make reservations by calling our receptionist from 8:30 a.m. until 3:30 p.m. at 529-1701.

Cancellations must be received by noon on Thursday, August 5 to avoid billing to your account. Please remember to ask for your cancellation number.

Spotlight on Benefits: WTC/UPS Affinity Program

United Parcel Service and the World Trade Center recently entered into a partnership to provide WTC members with excellent savings on UPS Next Day Air and international document and package shipments.

The program also supports the World Trade Center by providing for a 2 percent royalty payment on every dollar spent under the program.

Accordingly, by participating in the program, whenever you ship a UPS package you are directly supporting the WTC and its various international trade initiatives.
The benefits which are available to WTC members include: 25 percent off UPS Worldwide Express, 10 percent off UPS Worldwide Expedited, $1.50 off UPS Next Day Air Letters, and 10 percent off UPS Next Day Air Package shipments.

Enrollment in the program is simple. Call (504) 731-3721 or (800) 469-6713 and reference your membership in the World Trade Center of New Orleans.

If you're not currently a UPS customer, you will be issued an account number along with a complimentary UPS Air Starter Kit.

Once you are enrolled, call (504) 731-3721 or (800) PICKUPS to set up a pickup or to get the address of the nearest UPS drop-off location.

You may also visit the UPS Web site at www.ups.com to schedule pickups, track packages, order supplies, find drop-off locations, or get information on other UPS services.

Lunch With Us When Shopping Downtown!

When you're downtown shopping or taking care of business, have lunch at the Plimsoll Club and enjoy complimentary validated parking at the WTC garage.

When you lunch with us, we'll give you four hours of free parking in our garage. This is one extra hour of premium downtown parking for WTC members who sample our daily luncheon buffet.

Sample Early Menu Before Evening Out

Going to the theatre, the symphony or just enjoying a night on the town? We offer a delicious Early Evening menu from 5:30 p.m. until 6:30 p.m. on Tuesdays through Thursdays when the a la carte menu is offered.

Our Early Evening menu begins with starters such as crawfish cakes with tartar sauce, grilled andouille sausage with turnip greens and black-eyed peas, soup du jour and Caesar and Plimsoll salads.

Our main courses provide a choice of Chicken Lafitte, Tilapia Pecan or Veal Piccata. Desserts include carrot cake, sherbert du jour, chocolate mousse or bread pudding with praline sauce.

The cost is $14.75 per person. Two hours of complimentary validated parking is included in this special price.

Christmas in August? Call the Plimsoll Club

The holidays and cool weather may seem to be far in the future but it's not too early to book space for Christmas parties at the Plimsoll Club.

We have very few available weekend dates left for evening parties, so call Dori Singer or Pam Corrigan at 529-1701 right away to reserve space for your holiday bash.

In keeping with the holiday spirit, we have a special offer for holiday office luncheons during the month of December.

We will give everyone in attendance a complimentary glass of champagne with dessert. In addition, we will organize a drawing for a Plimsoll Club apron colored royal blue with white lettering and piping.

This offer applies only to luncheons held in private rooms with a banquet menu served. Group luncheons in the main dining room or those selecting the a la carte menu or buffet are excluded from this offer.

The Plimsoll Club’s Summer Hours SetThe Plimsoll Club will be open for lunch but closed for dinner (except for special event dinners) during the first two weeks of August.

The club will be closed completely for the last two weeks of August for our annual repairs and maintenance.

The Plimsoll Club will reopen for lunch on Monday, August 30 and dinner on Wednesday, September 1.



A Friendly Reminder

Please remember that your 1999 membership dues must be paid in full by March 31.

Any dues balance remaining unpaid by that date will be written off in accordance with the WTC by-laws.
