Gone with the Wind: Back Issues

The Plimsoll Club cordially invites you to enjoy A Gourmet Dinner & Wine Tasting on June 12

We are delighted to announce the Plimsoll Club's second Gourmet Dinner & Wine Tasting for 1999 to be held on Saturday, June 12 at 7:15 p.m.

Our theme is "The Wines of Chile and Argentina." Wines from Chile, the third largest wine exporter to the United States, are aiming to compete with prestigious wineries in Europe and California. The results are impressive.

Argentina, just a step below Chile, is also pushing toward higher quality and character in their wines.

Max Zander, wine expert, will lead you through this unprecedented focus on vineyard management.

We begin with cocktails and hors d'oeuvres, followed by the gourmet dinner, during which you will be entertained by Brian O'Neill on the piano.

The cost of the entire evening is only $78.50 per person. Make your reservations by calling Claire Stockton or Marc Garcia at 529-1701.
Cancellations should be made no later than noon on Thursday, June 10 or full billing will apply.

As always, we offer complimentary validated parking in the WTC garage.

Membership Survey Rates WTC Services and Programs Favorably

Early this year, Henderson & Associates consulting firm conducted an independent survey of WTC members to learn why members joined the WTC, what aspects of membership held the most appeal and were the most used, and members' levels of satisfaction.

Eighty-two members, selected at random, participated in a detailed telephone survey. The project was initiated by the WTC's Membership Committee, chaired by Donna Fraiche.

The survey's feedback overall was very positive about the WTC organization. As to why they joined as members, respondents gave as the main reason the ability to entertain at the Plimsoll Club, followed by networking opportunities, international contacts, and seminars/educational programs.

Seventy percent of those responding had attended a luncheon program or trade seminar two or more times during the past year. Sixty-seven percent stated they dine at the Plimsoll Club more than once a month.

Eighty-eight percent of the respondents said they would renew their membership.

WTC members wishing to receive a copy of the survey's executive summary (9 pages) or the complete report (52 pages) should call Membership Manager Natalie Rideau at (504) 529-1601, ext. 226.
