WTC Cultural Mission to Rome and Florence

Springtime always sparks wanderlust! Why not plan ahead this year for a wonderful fall excursion with the WTC?

Join President Pat Denechaud and other members for an insider's view of Rome and Florence from November 8-15.

This attractively priced group package offers a unique itinerary, specially tailored for WTC members.

We start our trip in Rome with a welcoming reception at the residence of the Hon. Lindy C. Boggs, U.S. Ambassador to the Vatican.

Amb. Boggs has been a great supporter of the WTC for many years. In fact, it was she who developed the motto "world peace, trade and understanding" during the early years of International House, the WTC's predecessor organization.
Other highlights of Rome will include a papal audience and private tour of the Vatican Museums and Sistine Chapel arranged by Ambassador Boggs. It's sure to be a memorable experience!

You'll also enjoy seeing the Forum, the Coliseum, St. Peter in Chains and St. Paul's Cathedral on our tour of Classic Rome.

Home base for our Roman adventure will be the lovely Savoy Hotel, a newly renovated four-star property located on the famed Via Veneto, a great location for exploring famous landmarks, elegant boutiques and charming sidewalk cafes.
Then it's off to Florence via the Eurostar Express train, first-class for a comfortable and quick one-and-three-quarter-hour trip.

In Florence, our agenda is bountiful, featuring the Duomo, the Baptistry, Campanile, the Piazza Della Signoria, and the Academia Gallery.

There will be time to enjoy on your own the artistic and cultural attractions of the Uffizi, Medici Chapel and a shopping adventure at the San Lorenzo Market.
We'll also take you on an afternoon excursion to San Gimignano, the city of medieval towers, and then to the hilltop town of Siena, the scene of the famous Palio horse race.

In Florence, your "resting hours" will be spent at the four-star Bernini Palace Hotel, an elegant and historic building around the corner from the Uffizi Gallery.
This customized tour package is $2,437 ($540 single supplement) and includes airfare, hotel accommodations, breakfast, tours, a welcoming reception, three dinners and all transfers and taxes.

Please note that these prices are based on a minimum participation of 30 people and current exchange rates; actual prices will depend on the number of participants. Reservations are on a first come, first serve basis with deposit.
For information, call Membership Manager Natalie Rideau at (504) 529-1601, ext. 226.
