WTC to Honor Consular Corps at Oct. 23 Dinner Dance

As in the past, the World Trade Center is sponsoring a Gala Dinner Dance on Friday evening, October 23, to honor the members of the Consular Corps on the occasion of United Nations Day.

On that evening, WTC members and their guests will pay tribute to the Consuls and their spouses for their dedicated service and the warm personal ties they have established in their efforts to bring the citizens of Louisiana closer to the nations and people they represent.

This special event will be held at the WTC's Plimsoll Club starting with cocktails, followed by a splendid five-course gourmet dinner presented in the Club's finest tradition.

Lively dance music will top off this memorable evening, so mark your calendars!

Additional information will be provided in next month's issue of TradeWinds.

The all-inclusive price for this gala event is $72.50 per person, which can be charged to your WTC membership account. For reservations, call 529-1601, ext. 222 or ext. 256.

Christmas in August? Call the Plimsoll Club

The holidays and cool weather may seem to be far in the future but it's not too early to book space for Christmas parties at the Plimsoll Club.

We have very few available weekend dates left for evening parties, so call Barbara Montgomery or Pam Corrigan at 529-1701 right away to reserve space for your holiday bash.

In keeping with the holiday spirit, we have a special offer for holiday office luncheons during the month of December.

We'll give everyone in attendance a complimentary glass of champagne with dessert. In addition, we'll organize a drawing for a Plimsoll Club apron colored royal blue with white lettering and piping.

This offer applies only to luncheons held in private rooms with a banquet menu served.

Group luncheons in the main dining room or those selecting the a la carte menu or buffet are excluded from this offer.

Spotlight on WTC Benefits: Reciprocal Clubs

The WTC is receiving lots of positive feedback as more and more members discover wonderful dining experiences and amenities at the 97 reciprocal clubs in North America.

As you make your travel plans, be sure to remember these tips for utilizing the reciprocal club program:

Contact Membership Manager Natalie Rideau (529-1601, ext. 226) in advance so she can send a letter of introduction on your behalf to the clubs of your choice. Please note that all private reciprocal clubs require such notification, while WTC and 10-K Clubs do not.

Contact the reciprocal club directly for dining reservations, guest room accommodations (if applicable), and any other pertinent information such as parking availability and preferred method of payment. Many clubs will bill directly to your WTC New Orleans account.

When planning to use a club or hotel in the 10-K Network (which is a free enrollment for WTC members), be sure to check the expiration date of your 10-K membership and entertainment cards. 10-K memberships expire annually and must be reinstated by calling the WTC Membership Department at (504) 529-1601, ext. 226. A three-week waiting period is necessary for renewal and shipment of catalogues and cards.

Take your WTC membership card with you when traveling for identification and account number reference.

Contact the Membership Department if you would like to receive another copy of the Reciprocal Club Directory or order the 1998 WTCA Membership Directory containing full details on the 326 WTCs worldwide ($4 including shipping).

If you have any questions about any of the services, facilities or publications listed above, please feel free to call us at (504) 529-1601, ext. 226.
