The Plimsoll Club cordially invites you to enjoy a Gourmet Dinner & Wine Tasting on June 27

We are delighted to announce the Plimsoll Club's second Gourmet Dinner & Wine Tasting for 1998, to be held on Saturday, June 27 at 7:15 p.m. Our theme is "Wines of the Rhone and Loire River Valleys."

A variety of wines are made along the banks of these majestic rivers. A sampling of the fine wines of these regions is offered for this event. We feature Chinon, made from Cabernet Franc, the high-quality red grape of the Loire region.

Max Zander, wine expert, will lead us through this delicious food and wine experience.

We begin with cocktails and hors d'oeuvres, followed by the gourmet dinner, during which you will be entertained by Brian O'Neill on the piano. The cost of the entire evening is only $69.50 per person. Make your reservations by calling Claire Stockton or Marc Garcia at 529-1701.

Cancellations should be made no later than noon on Thursday, June 25, or full billing will apply. As always, we offer complimentary validated parking in the WTC garage.

Spotlight on WTC Benefits: WTCA Online!

For WTC New Orleans members, the world is within reach through WTCA Online!

The Internet based web site located at http://www.wtca.org is a one-stop trade information hub for posting and reviewing trade opportunities, accessing valuable databases and communicating with over 300 WTCs and their members worldwide.

The Trade Opportunities Bulletin Board, a primary feature of the site, enables members to post an unlimited number of trade leads and search the opportunities posted by other worldwide members -- free of charge.

Following are success stories from WTCs around the globe that demonstrate the potential business opportunities for WTC members:

From WTC Hanover -- The Paulmann Company, a private label distributor of lighting systems, posted an "Offer to Buy" in search of new suppliers.

It received 50 responses to the posting, and it located a reliable new business partner.

From WTC El Paso/Juarez -- An "Offer to Buy" was posted by the WTC on behalf of the Jack Berg Sales Company, a prospective member interested in selling disposable razors in Latin America.

The company received 10 faxes per day, including a fax from China that quoted a lower price than was requested.

The company immediately joined the WTC and reports that it is still receiving responses to the posting.

For further information or to enroll in WTCA On-Line, contact Natalie Rideau at 529-1601, ext. 226.
